just vote them out (or give $ to their opponents)!

70% of Americans support having term limits for the US Congress.  But law changes or amendments to enact term limits are not happening - this is because the very people who are empowered to pass these changes are the ones who would be affected. The fox is not going to lock himself out of the hen house.

Currently we have 21 US senators (out of 100) who have been in office for more than 20 years.  And we have 61 representatives (out of 435) who have been in office for over 20 years.  These most senior members of Congress control and squander the power of the Senate and the House.  Some are so senile they are nothing but political party figureheads or puppets   Many are there only for self-serving reasons - they do next to nothing to serve our country or its people.  These congressional seniors have overstayed their usefulness and in their lingering-on they are poisoning the ideals, the energy and the vitality of the freshmen.

To improve the way our US government performs and ultimately, for the sake of bettering our nation, we should be ridding our congress of these career politicians.  We can do that by voting them out of office as their bids for re-election elections come up.  It's that easy, well almost that easy.  Unfortunately you can only vote for/against those in your state or district.

But there is something else you can do.  Pick out your least favorite career politician from the lists below and send $10 to his/her opponent's campaign fund!   Imagine if 10 million Americans did just this, and that the they focused their contributions on to just two targets. $100,000,000 ought to be plenty to get rid of two career politicians.  And this would give a strong message to others of their ilk: "get out of the way or we'll send you out!".

By the way, Nancy Pelosi (in the House for 25 years) is up for re-election this November. You might want to send $10 to her opponent John Dennis.  Donate to John Dennis' campaign. (I just gave them $10.)

Senator Orrin Hatch (Senator for 35 years) is also up for re-election this fall. You might want to sent $10 to his opponent Scott Howell.  Donate to Scott Howell's campaign. (I just gave them $10 too.)
