I'm in Chamonix today. And for the next couple of days. Its beautiful here - very tall mountains all around. Excellent hiking trails. I hiked maybe 8 miles along trails just above the treeline - Just souhe of Chamonix and looking down on the town much of the time. I toured a short ice cave in a big glacier. Rode a cable car 5000 ft up at the start of the day, then 5000ft don at around 4pm. I got a bit of a sunburn. Temps up on the trails were in the 60's. Frank stayed in town. He couldn't find his passport and billfold this morning and said his plan was to contact the authorities and try get things straightened out.
