read what you want to read
hear what you want to hear
see what you want to see
With the world being connected with modern transportation, cell phones and internet it seemed at one point that the tower of babel incident was in full reverse. People were coming back together under the common languages of tech, consumerism and capitalism.
On closer look it seems the trend, if there is one, could be just the opposite. With Netscape, Hulu, Roku and iTV we can choose and watch exclusively the genres we like. With "news" ranging from NPR to FOX and beyond, in both directions, we can tune into and hear only the news and analyses we like the most. More narrowing of our individual views can be had by picking and choosing from millions of websites that all have their own versions of the "truth".
Seriously though, I don't think comparing Fox News and NPR is valid.
ReplyDeletehow about FOX News and Democracy Now? :-)
